Weeks in Local OLAP Cubes

A question from Norway!

I work as a project planner for an organization that has a dozen project and
most of the resources work on more than one project in the same week.

I have one Project 2007 plan for each project and have assigned generic
resources to all plans. I've also generated one Local Resource Usage Cube for
each project containg the Work, Actual Work, Start and Finish fields.

In Excel 2007 I connect to Local Resource Usage Cubes and collects the
information with cubeformulas. Everything is working fine and I manage to get
custom built graphical reports displaying the overall resourse usage and
capacity at a generic level in my organization.

When I make any changes to the plan I just overwrite the existing cube. This
gives me a "somewhat" dynamical report.

I only have one problem: For each project the hours/data that is displayed
in the project plan for instance week 17 is displayed as week 15 in the
cubes/cubeformulas. Does anyone no why? Or any solution to this other than
being aware of the problem and manualy change this in the graphs?

Thanks for your respons Mike!

Do you mean that I should post my question at the Project Server newsgroup
since it's more likely to get an answer there? "Technically speaking" this is
a Project General question since I don't use Project Server, only the
possibility to save Local OLAP cubes in the Visual Report menu in Project
Standard/Professional 2007. And then connect to the the cube from Excel
2007...

Yes, you're more likely to get an answer there as Project Server users
create and use OLAP cubes. This keeps this newsgroup clear of external
sophistications for basic Project Standard users.

Hello Solveig,

I don't have an answer to your question, sorry.

But I can say I see the same issue of consistent date information when
creating local OLAP cubes from Project 2007 and using Excel 2007.
I've yet to discover why or how to correct it (other than manually
changing the dates).

Sorry I couldn't do more than say "me too!"

Julie and Mike: Thanks for your answers!

Julie: I guessed, as you confirmed, that there was no easy fix so I'll keep
changing it manually in my Excel sheets. Thanks!
