WEIRD synch issue, possibly corrupt calendar data?

I hope someone cal help me with this issue, because it's a real
head-scratcher, and I don't know how to resolve it.

I was originally asked to transfer data from a Treo 650 to a
Blackberry. The process seemed simple at first - one final synch with
Palm Desktop installed on an iMac G5, installing Entourage synch
conduits, synching the Treo to Entourage, then synching Entourage to
the Blackberry with PocketMac Blackberry. I was to do all this on an
iMac G5 with 1.5 GB of RAM running Entourage 10.1.6 under OS 10.4.7.

Unfortunately, it seems the calendar data is somehow corrupt. My first
sign was that when I tried synching between the Treo and Entourage, it
would crash during the calendar synch. I tried first synching
everything but the calendar, which worked perfectly, then only the
calendar, which crashed.

My next step was to see if I could synch the Treo with Entourage
11.2.6, which was installed on a MacBook Pro. I installed Palm
Desktop, re-synched the Treo to it, then installed the Entourage
conduits and synched again to Entourage. No crash. I then installed
PocketMac Blackberry on the laptop and synched the data with Entourage.

To move the data to the iMac, I then connected the Blackberry to the
iMac and synched with PocketMac to Entourage 10.1.6 on that desktop.
It seemed to work, except a lot of old calendar items that were invalid
showed up in Entourage (invalid meaning they seemed to be recurring
events, but their end dates had long passed, yet Entourage was still
showing them as continuing). I looked on Entourage on the MacBook Pro
and saw no such incorrect items.

Believing the problem had something to do with the iMac running
Entourage 10.1.6 rather than 11.2.6, I upgraded Entourage on the iMac
and tried again. I wiped the Blackberry of all data and synched it
again with Entourage on the MacBook Pro, which seemed to have correct
calendar data. This time, when I tried synching with Entourage, it
crashed at the calendar every time. What's worse, I also found through
testing that any calendar data already contained in Entourage would be
wiped out by this crash.

Since I saw that the calendar data on the MacBook Pro was correct, and
both computers now had the same version of Entourage, I next tried
archiving the calendar data from the MacBook Pro, wiping the calendars
from Entourage on the iMac, then restoring the calendar data archived
from the MacBook Pro. Surprise! The bad calendar items reappared,
even though I restored archived calendar items from a computer that
seemed to have correct calendar data.

So now, I'm stuck. I can't seem to get the correct calendar data from
the MacBook pro to the iMac without restoring the bad calendar items,
and the Blackberry refuses to synch calendar data with the iMac at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can proceed?
