I have some servers ( vm ) , objective is to find at what time of the
year how many will be required by the team.
1. What I have done is created some tasks spanned over 6+ months.
2. Allocated some resources ( people ) to those tasks.
3. Now I also want allocate VM to the tasks for eg task1 will require
4 VM’s and task 2 will require 3 VM’s.
4. Now if in Resource sheet I am adding VM resources of type Work ,
the duration decreases as it assumes that two folks are working on it.
If I put resource as Material , I don’t get the exact no at a time as
Materials are consumables and it just add up the no’s.
Similarly cost also doesn’t help.
Is there any way I can get to my objective : I need to know at some
point of time of year how many VM’s will be used by the engineers.
