Will not convert handwriting to text

I have a vistablet and when i write on OneNote it gives me the option to
convert to text but it does nothing. Vistablet recommends OneNote for its
software. What am I doing wrong? I did make sure that the handwriting was
set for handwriting and not drawing.

What version of Windows do you have? Not all of them have the required
software included to support an external digitizer tablet.

I have Windows Vista Home Pre. It will write in OneNote but will not convert
to text.
