I had the same problem and couldn't resolve it by deleting the Data
and the Options files in the Reg. I worked with Microsoft tech support
and solved the problem by unchecking addin options. The problem was
with a zeon add-in. I'm not sure what it was for but unchecked Word
starts up every time (click on the office button, click word options
at bottom, click on Add-Ins, next screen should have Manage "COM Add-
Ins" at the bottom, click GO, then uncheck the add-ins, save it and
try it. You can recheck and test one at a time to find the problem) I
had the same problem with Excel but the program identified the zeon
add-in as a problem and asked me if it should be disabled which I did
and the program opens ok every time now.
