When you're computer crashes, as it just happened to me, Word
maintains a copy of the last saved document, right? (please say yes).
If so, where can I find that? Help please!! Thank you.

on Mac in the trash and it won't be named document so in so. It will a
bunch or letters and numbers. But if you open it it should show up fine
you may have to scan through it to see if everything is there. then
save as document name plus a number to indicate a new version. To make
this show up restart computer and it will mysteriously show up in Trash
as a Temp file.

I'm sorry, I should've said that I'm at work and using Windows 2000.
Where would it be then? Thanks.

If it has, it will present it to you automatically when Word restarts.

However, if YOU have not first saved the document, then neither has Word.
Word's automatic recovery saves only CHANGES to an existing file. If the
document has not first been saved by you, there is no existing file, and
nothing is saved.

If you quit Word, it cleans up all of the temporary files: so if you crash,
restart, then quit Word again, you have wiped any saves.

Hmmm... You wanted me to say 'yes'? I think all I can say is "yes, you've
lost it" :)

Sorry!

Hi Phillip:

In that case, it's the same answer. "Sorry, but you have lost it." :)

Cheers
