£ and $ signs in Excel spreadsheet

Mark_H

Hi,

I have recently put together a budget spreadsheet using £ signs as my currency. I have done this by changing the cell format to currency. I am using Excel in OfficeMac 2008.

However, when I save, close and reopen the spreadsheet, they have all converted to $ dollar signs! I have tried this on another sheet and the same thing happens.

Can anyone help me please?

Many Thanks
Mark

I have the same problem - did you ever fix it? I see this message is a few months old.

Have you updated your version of Office to the latest (12.1.2)? The problem
should not exist in that version.
