“Slide Show Security†filter is delaying the slideshow from openin

I’m using PowerPoint Home-and-Student 02007 in kiosk mode to make a very
large (~300 MB file) photo viewing presentation. When opening the slideshow
for the first time, a “Slide Show Security†box has started appearing,
stating that it’s “…currently preparing by checking the files against your
current security settings. Depending on the size and location of the
presentation, this could take a while.†And it does take a while, to the
degree where it detracts from the presentation.

Each subsequent opening of the slideshow from any point happens
instantaneously, though. If the program is closed and opened again, the
message will appear the first time the slideshow is started.

Does anyone know why this filtering has started happening, and what I can do
to disable it?

Thank you in advance for any help you’re able to provide.

This is not a PPT thing, so I'd start by looking into your antivirus
settings and also into any add-ins you might have installed.

You can check add-ins in 2007 by going to Office Button | PPT Options |
Add-ins.
