1.5 Gb 4K+ Messages MBOX File will not import to Entourage 2008

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Entourage does not recognize the file as MBOX when trying to import it but it recognizes the file in the Finder as an "Entourage" file. It is a large MBOX file... when browsing to targeting it in the import menu of Entourage (as a text file) it is "deactivated" or "gray" so it can not be chosen for import.

Please help.

I don't believe Entourage can import MBOX files using the File -->
Import... command. Instead, just drag the MBOX file into the message
list on the left of the Entourage window.
