Hi

The computer with XP is connected on domain.
If I want to make a new database, when I try to open Microsoft Access 2000,
I get next message:
Enter your user name and password.

I just want to know where is that protection started and how?

That security is build into the workgroup (.mdw) file to which your computer
is attached.
If you need to use a username and password to use any other Access database
on your computer, you may have difficulties if you change this .mdw file.

If the above is not a problem, you can use the workgroup administrator at
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MS Access Workgroup
Administrator
to change your workgroup.
If you create a new workgroup file, it will not initially ask you for a name
and password.

But I would strongly advise you to read up on workgroup files and Access
security, to understand why your computer had been attached to this other
workgroup file.
