10 hours a day scheduled for some for a short time

I have a project where for a couple of weeks I want a few of my resources to
work 10 hour days (their choice). After that they are back to 8 hour days. I
changed their indvidual resource calendars to work from 8:00 - 6:00. Resource
Usage shows 10 hours but seems to only schedule 8 hours anyway. For
explanation purposes assume Units=100% and Max Units=100%.

I know it is simple, but I can't figure it out. Thanks for your help

Hi sdesomer,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

I suggest you change the Date format to include times of the day, via
Tools/Options/View tab, so that you can confirm that the changes are being
taken into account. Then via Format/Timescale.../Non-working time tab,
change the calendar to one of the resource calendars. This should show the
full 10 hours per day.
