11.2.3 update w/ iSync - HOWTO?

I might be missing something since it's a bit late and I'm tired.

But I can't seem to figure out how the new Entourage update 11.2.3 is
supposed to work with iSync or even the latest Missing Sync 5.1 beta
that I'm using to sync to my Sony Clié.

Using the updated Handheld-Installer 1.5 produces a 11.2.0 (!)
Entourage conduit in the appropriate location that is no longer
configurable (a message pops up very briefly, I've managed to read
something about an incompatibility...).

All in all the old Entourage version would at least allow me to sync to
the Clié, so this is more than a step back.

Any hints greatly appreciated.

You need to enable sync services in Entourage Preferences.

I use it with my Clié and it works just fine. Once sync is enabled with
Entourage and the System address book, you can disable the Entourage
conduit in TMS and only sync through the conduit for MarkSpace contacts,
events and tasks. These conduits basically directly access the
SyncServices to pull the data they need to sync.

That means you have to buy Missing Sync (made by MarkSpace) if you want to
sync to external devices via iSync.

Thanks for the advice.

I set the preferences in Entourage an it works now. Strangely, even if
I disable all Mark Space conduits and the iSync conduit in M/S
(Entourage conduit is enabled).

Seems a bit odd to have two alternative syncing options in M/S and no
indication if one is better or worse. I'd like MarkSpace to clarify
their UI in that respect. Contrary to the readme that came with the
Entourage update, the bulit in help file doesn't explain the new Sync
method (at least in the German version).

Yes, TMS 5.1 was mentioned in the previos post.
I guess you can also use the Address Book and iCal conduit with Plam
Desktop but I'm not so sure they would perform any better than the
ENtourage conduit.

Well you still can use the "old one" It'sjust that you have a choice
now: Entourage conduit, or (and that's if you have The Missing Sync)
SyncServices directly. I'm quite happpy with the later,

I got syncing to work (sort of) without TMS, just using iSync and the
Entourage syncing services. It's better than it was, but still not as good
as it could be. There are still fields not syncing correctly, like
home/work addresses in wrong places and meeting locations not syncing
meeting locations (but at least they don't get deleted on my Tungsten E2.)

Does using TMS fix this missing connectivity? If I create a meeting with a
location in the location field, does it sync from Entourage to the Palm and
back again? I must be missing the obvious, as syncing can't be this hard;
the fields exist in both Entourage and on the Palm

The only way I've been able to properly sync my Tungsten E2 with a desktop
client is in a Windows environment, using Oracle Calendar to sync my Palm
with the Oracle server. I can access and edit the calendar with the Mac
client, but any syncing has to go through Windows (which is quite annoying.)

I wouldn't really be able to compare since I never used the Apple
conduits. All data seems to sync properly through TMS for me, that's all
I could say :-\

I broke down and got TMS, and had a few problems with contact syncing with
the 5.0 release version. After reading the support site and downloading the
5.1 beta version, syncing is working quite well. TMS made it easy, I must
have just been frustrated that the standard software included with OS X
couldn't handle a mainstream PDA.
