14 default cubes

Woody

Hi,

The help says : "The OLAP database for Project Server 2007 includes a total
of 14 default cubes for EPM reports".
What is the meaning of "14 default cubes" :
- 14 sets of dimensions and measures?
- 14 templates?
What is the benefit from 14 default cubes instead of one?

Thanks ahead for your explantions.

Fourteen sets of Dimensions and Total Fields. The benefit you get from
fourteen OLAP cubes is much greater reporting capabilities compared with the
single OLAP cube in Project Server 2003. For example, you could report on a
count of all Risks across all projects in the system. Hope this helps.

Hi Woody,

and from a performance point of view you will find that 14 seperate cubes
build much faster than 1 "ueber cube".
Please note that 2007 also allows you to report on a task basis, unlike 2003
where project inforamtion was the lowest entiy.

Have fun investigating the cubes.
