1and1, hosting multiple domains

Paul L

I have a package for microsost hosting on 1and1.com that handles multiple
domains.

I had a lot of problems at first until I saw an article that suggested
having each domain point to the root directory for the package and put there
a script to redirect to a separate folder for each hosted domain.

for example,

all domains go to www.x.com
all that it contains is a script that does redirection for each site

I am wondering if other people have run into this.

I first noticed the problem when I used frontpage to edit the sites, even if
the sites went to separate directories (which works from a browser), front
page always opened the root directory.

If so, did you set up the folders as subsites so that frontpage would see
them as separate websites (I have done this to make it possible to transfer
a site over).

What other problems have come up with using this hosting package?
