2 font problems

I had to re-install WinXP and Office2003Pro.

Many of the Office fonts that I did have are not in my Fonts folder. (I
checked the Microsoft list and they are fonts that load with office, as
Cooper Black.) Some fonts in the folder do not appear in the Font drop-down
list in Word.

I have the same printer driver installed as my husband's machine. All fonts
work for him, so I assume it's not a driver thing.

I am taking a class that I MUST complete assignments using the fonts
idicated. All assignments use only fonts that are part of Office2003Pro.

I also read an article in KnowledgeBase that not all fonts will load
depending on choices made at installation. I can't find what choice I did not
make correctly, especially since they were there when I did my original
install. The article also said that the amount of space available could be a
factor; again, they were there before.

Any help on how I can get all Office fonts installed AND available in the
font list.

Thanks

What fonts you have available does not depend in any way on printer drivers,
but only on the contents of the folder C:\Windows\Fonts. Copy the appropriate
..TTF files from this folder on your husband's machine to the same folder on
your machine.

OK. Copy the font.ttf files into my Font folder. Although I thought one had
to use the "Install new font" option.

However, if I didn't have another computer with these fonts, I should be
able to install them from my Office CD. Why doesn't this work.

PLUS, there is still the issue of some font files that ARE in my Font folder
that are not appearing in the Word font dropdown list.

You may want to rethink that. By example, please install a Generic Text
printer, make it the default printer and then open Word and see what
fonts you can use.

Some fonts in the folder are "DOS only" fonts and will only show in
Notepad. As for the "fonts" on CD what is preventing you from installing
those from the SETUP?
