2 Internet Explorers

I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2002 for my e-mail account
and I'm using Internet Explorer 6 for my web browser.

My Problem:

When I click on an internet link in an e-mail, a blank
internet explorer window comes up first, then another
explorer window comes up with the correct website link.

Is there a way to eliminate the first blank internet
explorer window?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
