In Project Server 2003, it is possible to have multiple project managers in
a project, however, there can only be one project manager per task in the
project. For example, let's say that our project consists of four phases:
Design, Build, Test, and Implement. I am reponsible for the tasks in the
Design and Build phases, while you are responsible for the tasks in the Test
and Implement phases. I publish the assignments in the project and then
close the project. You open the project, select the tasks in the Test and
Implement phases, click Collaborate - Publish - Republish Assignments and
then select "Become the manager for these tasks" and then click OK. In this
scenario, task updates will be directed to me from team members working in
the Design and Build phases, while task upates will be directed to you from
team members working in the Build and Implement phases. On the other hand,
the system will not allow you to update task updates sent to me or allow me
to update task updates sent to you. Hope this helps.
