20 page booklet printing

I used a booklet pproduced in publisher 2003 in XP and now have vista with
publisher 2007. I am unable to print the booklet as before when I printed
(current page) and flipped the pages individually myself. The print previer
shows the correct pages but prints out different then previewed. Got to be
something I'm missing in the set up. I used A4 1/2 page and went through the
advanced print set up for proper page feed etc.

Printing a booklet is a lot different in Publisher 2007.

Print, type pages 1,20
Turn the page over, print 19,2
Keep in mind when you turn the page over you need to put the larger number
first.

If you look at print preview and choose multiple views on the toolbar, you will
see what page is next to what page.

I have pretty much same problem as TomKat with a 24-page booklet that isn't
printing the same as BEFORE Vista.

BEFORE VISTA.... I could Print pages 1-24, turn it over and print the back
in a matter of minutes. Then cut in half, fold, and staple and I had 2
complete booklets. In fact, I could enter # of copies: 12.... and I'd soon
have that! No problems!

AFTER VISTA....Specifically when I enter Print pages 1-24 front and back,
the printer prints only 3 pages F&B, then I turn the pages over and print the
backside. To print more, I enter Print pages 12-18, and the printer prints 2
more pages which I turn over to print the back. The final Print pages 11-14
results in the last two pages being printed and again turning it over.
Finally I have my 24-page booklet!

In addition, Print Preview only shows 6 pages.

My printer is compatible with VISTA and according to manufacturer, the
problem is NOT with the printer.

Any suggestions? H E L P !!!!!!

Vista has nothing to do with your printing Publisher documents.

What version Publisher do you have? If you have Publisher 2007 printing a
booklet with two pages per sheet is almost impossible. Hopefully it will be
fixed in the next service pack.

Thanks Mary for your response--discouraging as it is. I'm glad to hear it's
not a Vista problem.

I have Publisher 2007.

With the page setting at 1/2A4 booklet 5x8 and printing front and back
(manually), it seems to be okay, but not with page size 4.25x5.5 which I've
been using for my booklet for 10 million years! That's a bit confusing.

Am I understanding correctly that Publisher 2007 is not going to work with
my booklet --unless I manually put two like-pages on each sheet or cut the
finished printed booklet to the size I want? (haven't tried that though..)

Could I reinstall ONLY Publisher 2003 and print it that way?

Sure, you can re-install Publisher 2003. Create a folder on your hard drive and
install there. You'll have less grief.

Thank you, Mary. I re-installed Publisher 2003... followed your
instructions, and my printer is just happily printing away!!!

Thanks

I understand that the next service pack will have the fix for two booklets per
sheet of stock. Good news.
Glad you have your problem solved for now. Thanks for posting back.
