2000 query converted to 2003 and xp runs very slow

1. Queries that ran very fast in windows2000 for access 2000 take a lot
longer to run in xp access 2003.
2. If i hit the >* button when the query is running, it gets all the
records very fast
3. Do i need to do anything to my old code to have the same effect on the
query running from a macro?
