Is there any chance that a .MDE file compiled in Access 2002 can run on a
computers that might Access 2000, Access 2002 or Access 2003 installed?

Thanks,
Lynn.

Hi, Lynn.

The Access 2002 *.MDE file will run only on the computers with Access 2002
or 2003 installed, not on the computers with Access 2K installed, since
Access 2K is not forward compatible. Create the *.MDE file in Access 2K to
ensure compatibility with all of these computers.

I will stay with my 2000 .mde file.

But - the Access 2003 users get #NAme on some of the report fields.
The field names are not the same. Some have values like__(margin/sales)*100.

Any ideas on this?

Thanks. Lynn

Someone has altered the RecordSource (usually field names in a query) of the
reports or the RecordSource of some of the controls on the reports. Table
names, field name, form names, control names on forms, modules, et cetera,
remain the same during conversion to another version of Access.

So i cannot do expressions in report fields?
I should do the expression in a query ?
