Is it possible to view 2003 created files in Visio 2002, or does 2002 need updated, is there a download availble. New Visio user trying to provide files for her boss- who uses 2002...

No, but there is a Visio 2003 viewer available for free download. Otherwise
Visio 2003 can save files back to the 2002 format.
