2003 database opened with 2007 showing report header size of 22 inches?

in process of upgrading to Access 2007. (Just got it installed Friday!)
Will be completely reprogramming database (revamping & re-designing!) Am
using old database from Access 2003 until I get new one built. Had a report
that I used for first time today since changed over to 2007. When opened
the report in print preview, it told me the margins were too big for page.
changed over to design view and report header/footer had increased to 22
inches and would not decrease in size. Finally had to remove all labels
(Report Name from header and the Final Total box from footer) and delete
report header/footer completely. At that point, the page header/footer
abruptly increased in size to 22 inches. I then had to remove the Page X
of X from the Page header/footer from the report and delete it too., just
leaving the body and the other sections. (we had to have this report...we
needed it for payroll purposes). Every time I attempted to add either of
the two headers, page or report..they would increase to 22 inches tall, even
though they did not have anything in them. NOTE: This is still an Access
2003 database..I've not converted it to 2007, yet. I've not had a problem
like this with any of my other reports...but I've not opened all of them
yet. I had originally planned to import some of my reports from the old
database into the new one, because several of them are fairly complicated,
but if they are going to do this...ick..I seriously doubt it!

Has anyone had a problem similar to this? just wondering...and if so, what
caused it and was there a workaround? Also, can someone suggest a good
programming guidebook? I'm very familiar with 2003 programming..but I could
use some advice with 2007! :) Thanks in advance!
