2003 - Labels next to columns instead of legend

Direct Designer

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a way to have labels to the left of columns in a
stacked column chart instead of having a legend? I have been doing this
manually and would love to be able to have it automatic.

Thanks for any help you can offer!!

Lisa,

If you right click your stacked column chart....
and choose "chart options"

Under the "data labels" tab is a setting that reads "label contains"

Tick "series names" - to get your labels.

These will appear directly over each bar area (not good!)

but you can then manually drag each label to the left.

Once you've set one graph how you like it.
Then copy and paste it as a starting point for your future graphs.

cheers

What TAJ said.

But also, you could duplicate the data series so that it's next to the
existing column and give that version no line and no fill color. Add the
data labels to it.
