2003 license but 2007 overiding it

Office 2007 was installed on our computer that we just bought....but there is
no product code. We installed 2003 but 2007 keeps on overiding it. We would
just remove 2007 but now there are documents that we did on 2007
inadvertantly forgetting to actively save as 2003. What will happen if we
delete 2007...will all 2007 docs disappear? someone mentioned that we should
install open office from Sun to be able to work with the 2007 docs? any
ideas? At this point we can't edit any 2007 documents.

Uninstall both copies of Office. Reboot. Install 2003. Download the
compatibility pack from Microsoft's website. Don't forget to install all
applicable patches.

OMG...I feel so dumb.. went to the link and downloaded but when installed
it...computer said that I had a version already on my computer...went into
control panel and didn't find anything. When I searched compatibility...a
wizard came up but asking all sorts of questions that I had no idea of
answers. Is there an easy fix?

Since you haven't removed 2007 yet, there isn't a need for the
compatibility pack. The easy fix is to UNinstall 2007, Install 2003,
Install the compatibility package.

Thank you to both of you. We uninstalled the 2007 and everything is
accessible to us now. Appreciate you help.
