2003 Movie Options - Emulate?

B

BoomerM3

There are 2 great options in PPT 2003. Under 'edit movie object', you
can select 'hide while not playing' and 'zoom to full screen'. I saved
a presentation with these options and ran it on PPT XP. Like the
options never existed...

Is there a way to get these effects to work in older versions? The hide
while not playing is especially effective for my presentation.

Thanks,

Hm. I'm not sure why PPT 2002 (aka PPT XP) wouldn't hide the movie when not
playing, as that's an option even in PPT 2000. So I'd think it's also an
option in 2002.

Have you applied all service packs to Office/PPT XP?

It really isn't an issue of updates. I want to take the presentation I
created in 2003 and send it to other users. When I do so, feature 'hide
while not playing' is not effective. I don't want the user to have to
alter the presentation.

It appears that this function may not work in earlier version. Is this
true?

I don't know. And I don't have PPT 2002 installed right now to check.

One thing that you can count on is that movies always play on top of anything
else. So, if you want to hide while not playing, put an object on top of the
movie object. It could be a rectangle of the same color as the background or
with a fill that blends with the background.

Good suggestion Sonia. What interests me is the PPT 2003 edit command
to 'hide while not playing'. It only seems to work in 2003 and does not
carry back to 2002 and probably not other versions.

Boomer afraid your off base on this one a bit. "Hide While Not Playing" is
available in 2000, XP and 2003. (And is backward/forward compatible) I
suspect you have a issue on the machine or with your PPT installation.
