2003 MS Project Professional client won't run

Installed Project client on my machine, tested connection to
production box and it's good. Attempted to launch the client, it
briefly opens, flashes the login screen and then disappears. However,
I am able to run the client perfectly well as a local instance. Any
ideas?

You're trying to conenct to a 2007 server are you. If so it's not compatible.
