2003 office to 2003 office pro

I am trying to get access on my computer. I already have 2003 office
standard and I want to install 2003 Office Pro. I have XP as my operating
system. Every time I try to install it says I need to have 97, 2000, or XP
office and says it can't find it. If I already have 2003 standard on my
computer I don't understand why upgrading to Pro is so difficult. I am
wondering if anyone knows what I need to do so that I can install this.

Hi Deb,

Prior to the 2007 Office products, moving laterally within the Office products was considered a cross grade, not an upgrade, and was
not supported.

In Office 2007 cross grades are supported.

Does that mean there is no way for me to install 2003 Pro without
uninstalling standard?

Hi Deb,

While you could install Office 2003 Professional alongside of Office 2003 Standard edition, there isn't an advantage to doing so
unless you find an app in Pro that isn't included in Standard edition that depending on your needs may or may not be important to
you.

You wouldn't normally be able to use the Office 2003 Standard Edition as a qualifying product for installing an Office 2003
Professional Edition.

of course not the anwser I wanted but that isn't your fault. I need Access
which is only on the Pro so I guess I will be installing it one way or
another.
