2003 Outlook not able to receive any e-mail

I use office 2003 basic and my outlook will not let me
get pass the password from my ISP, yet I can use web@mail
and surf the net at will. Outlook problem or ISP mail
issue ????

I have a similar problem. Suddenly, my Outlook 2002 won't
receive emails. If I try to log out, I get the
Send/Receive dialog box but no tasks. it seems to get
stuck at that stage. I spent 2 hrs on phone to MS, but no
solution.

this is frustrating the hell out of me.

I had a similar problem. I am an old MINDSPRING (bought
out by Earthlink) user. Somewhere along the lines, they
have switched the preferred POP3 and SMTP server names.
I would have intermittent issues with receiving email
until I switched to their new server names. Works great
now.
