2003 PIA

Hi All
My Outlook 2003 COM-AddIn is using the Interop. The client therefore has to
install the 2003 Redistributable PIA.

I'd like to include the PIA setup in my initial AddIn setup - which I've
built with a VS 2003 Setup project. Is this possible?

Anybody here which would recommend a practical way worked out okay?

Thanks for any help
Martin

You can include the link for the setup of the redistributable PIAs, just
follow the steps in the deployment walkthroughs for checking for the PIA's
and installing them.

Hi Ken

I dont understand what you are saying. You want me to create a new setup
project in the solution and include the O2003PIA.MSI on step 4 of 5 (Choose
files to include)?

Is the deployment walkthrough for you creating a new setup project?
I'm using VS 2003.

Thanks for your help

Your setup project should include checks for requirements and pre-requisites
such as the Framework version you use and the necessary PIA's. The
pre-requisites will also include things like Extensibility.dll and
stdole.dll too.

I don't have an URL handy specifically for deploying a shared addin created
using VS 2003 but things like the checks are similar in all the managed
platforms, you can look at how that's handled in VSTO at
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb332051.aspx. Just follow the
information about requirements and pre-requisites there or google for a
deployment walkthrough for your platform.
