2003 powerpnt compress option not working correctly

Office 2003 all up to date with patches andupdates. One system when
compressing a complete presentation, I figure compressing images will reduce
the file which is what i did. I use image compression with all pictures in
doc and web/screen and check compress picture and delete cropped areas, a
30mb file is down to 5.5 mb. When instructing other users to try, all 3
other system couldnt get teh same results. All have the same settings and
could only compress to 28mb. I tried many other presentations and it only
seem to work with this particular computer. I dont understand why everyone
else cant get the same results!! help please
