[2007] accept task update does not automatically publish

Hi Guys,

I have a strange behavior that I am hoping you may be able to help me with.
A team member has updated tasks in "My tasks" and has submitted the change

The project Manager accepts the changes. For some reason Project Server does
not publish the change. Only after I publish the project manually ( by going
inot "Edit Project Propeties") it will publish the change.

I have checked if there are any settings but could not find any. I also
checked the Queue and the event log, but no error in either of them

I would like that the accept button of the task update, automatically
publishes the project. Any ideas why it doesnt?
thanks for your help

Accepting task updates does not automatically publish them. This is why we
recommend as a best practice that you accept all task updates from within
the Project Professional 2007 desktop client and not from PWA. From Project
Professional 2007, when you open a project that has updates waiting to be
processed, the system alerts you to this fact and asks you if you want to
see those updates. If you click Yes, the system navigates to the Updates
page within Project Professional 2007. From there, you can accept and
reject updates as needed. When you process the updates in this manner, you
can use the Change Formatting feature to see how the updates changed the
project schedule. And then from there, when you are good and ready, you can
click File - Publish. Although this process is certainly not intuitive, I
believe it is the more powerful way to handle task updates. Hope this
helps.

Thanks guys, I had a blod moment there. Of course accepting the task does not
re-publish the project, but I think I fell into the trap of publishing the
project in PWA.

Thanks Gary It really looks like there is something not quite right with
publsihing it using PWA.
Lets hope this will be fixed in a hot fix very soon.

Dale, it does make sense what you say to publish the project plan in
Professional, since most times you will need to amend the schedule after
accepting changes.

Many thanks for your help

To add to Dale's comments: Don't use the publishing feature in PWA until
it's fixed.
