[2007] Deliverables & Workspaces & space

Hello,

It seems that the new "Deliverable" feature is enable only if the projet you
want to link has a Workspace. Yes/No ?
A Microsoft consultant advised us against creating Workspaces for each
project : this feature would take too much room on the server (We have
almost 200 projects with an average of 100 tasks each. (Cluster of 4
servers).
Did you experiment any issue when creating numerous project Workspaces ?
Thanks for any feedback

Robert

Your Microsoft consultant is sadly mistaken and has given you terrible
advice. You cannot use the Deliverables feature unless you publish your
project. When you publish a project, the system can automatically create a
WSS workspace for you, which I strongly recommend. The workspace gives you
the additional collaboration features in the system, including Risks,
Issues, Documents, and of course, Deliverables. Hope this helps.

Robert,

We have installed several instances of Project Server 2007 of all sizes.
Most of the customers have a WSS project workspace created automatically for
each project. That has not caused any problems for any of them.

I believe the deliverable features needs a workspace in WSS...

Hope this helps...
