2007: import project wizard, can't keep resource local

M

Mvisscher

I use the import project wizard from the enterprise options menu in PP2007 to
import a 2003 project mpp.

In step 1, 'Map local Resource to Enterprise Resource', I select 'Map to
enterprise resource' in the 'Action on Import column'. I open the resource
list and because the resource is not in the enterprise resource pool I try to
modify the 'Action on Import column' to the value 'Keep local with base
calendar' . So I select this value and I click on another cell, but the value
changes back to 'Map to enterprise resource'! So I can't select the 'Keep
local with base calendar' anymore.

I tried everything but I cannot determine what to do. Problem occurs for all
Project Professional installations and all Project Managers users. Please
help.

Hello Marcel,

That's a known bug in the 2007 version.
Try File/ Save As... generally it works better.

I find that an easier way is to tell it you don't want to import the
resources. When you then 'save' it will tell you that a local resource has
the same name as an enterprise resource and ask you if you want to replace.
Just say 'yes to all' - saves a lot of messing about, especially when you
have a lot of resources on the plan.
Of course, you need to ensure your resource names are correct.
