2007 Office Trial Small Business Vesion

J

James Frithjof

I had to remove the trial software from my machine, because the installation
of 2007 Word, Exel etc. somehow disturbed the junk mail filter in Outlook.
This is possibly linked to the fact that Word is the e-mail editor for
Outlook. Also, it appear as if the Word 2003 and 2007 cannot exist in
parallell. Using Word 2007, the Outlook 2003 defaults to Outlook as the
e-mail editor, and trying to re-establish Word 2003, the Installer is
initiated and it all becomes a mess.

I tried to install Outlook 2007, but then experienced that it could not work
with third party software. Also, I could not make the search function work
in Outlook 2007. The software became completely blind to even the most
frequently recurring data in mail folders and Contacts. Very disappointing.

Best regards,

James

Hi James,

I'm not sure I'm clear on what you may be seeing when you refer to disturbing the junk mail filter.

For Office 2007 Word is no longer the email editor for Outlook. Outlook includes a 'Word clone' editor.

Word 2003 and Word 2007 can survive together, but not two versions of Outlook and Outlook 2003 will probably not be able to link to
another version of Word as its email editor other than its sibling 2003 version. FWIW, MS has always recommended against mixing
versions of Office apps together.

If you have Outlook 2003 and the Outlook 2003 Business Contact Manager add-in, both of those would need to be removed prior to being
able to install the matching 2007 versions.

For the search, did you install the Windows Desktop Search product (if on Windows XP) and let it build the indicies it needs if
you're using Instant Search? I didn't have an issue in searching and finding the text in a mail items folder using
Tools=>Search All Mail Items.

Hi James - My name is Raymond. I've got the office small business 2007 and
I've got a problem with MS Word every new page defaulting to 1.5" per line as
opposed to the single line option in the paragraph set up. Have you heard of
this? There doesn't seem to be a patch for it and I can't seem to find any
discussion on this matter. I've already been referred to Microsoft by dell.
I've gone as far as creating my own template and it does exactly the same
thing. When I'm typing I complete the first page and start immediately into
the next page right in the middle of the page when I hit enter the line jumps
to 1.5". I hit back space or delete to get back to the end of the sentence
and hit enter again and it won't revert back to the single line spacing
option. I have to manually go back into the set up paragraph and enter all
0's again and select the single line spacing option.

Ideas?

thanks,
t

To clarify what I wrote real quick. This is Raymond again.
When I started Office for the first time the paragraph was defaulted at
multiple line at: 1.15.
I change it to single spacing and at: 0
I changed the after: from 10 to 0.
Made a template and saved it as a template.
Unfortunately I didn't hit default to reset the default for all new pages.
Theoretically in Templates I shouldn't have to hit default. But it seems this
needs to be the case? At any rate, I went ahead and did my typing and after
the first page was done and continuted typing straight on into page two the
default reverted back to
multiple lines at: 1.15. with the After: 10.

I guess with templates does it have to be default over rides the Template
design?
If this question makes sense?

thanks for listening.

Raymond.
