2007 Organizer reminder being overridden

S

Steve

I'm running Office 2007 on XP.

When someone with Outlook 2003 sends me an appointment and they configure
the appointment to have no reminder, my Outlook 2007 sets a reminder based on
my default reminder settings. This does not occur when both parties are on
Outlook 2003.

What should be occurring is Outlook 2007 should be preserving whatever
reminder the sender selected.

Also, unlike Outlook 2003, I cannot override the reminder until after I have
accepted the appointment. I then have to go and reopen it to change the
reminder.

I recently installed this hotfix
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950282/en-us
to address a different problem but the one I speak of here continues.

Thanks,
Steve

The reminder behavior in 2007 is "by design" - most users want to use their
reminder pattern, not the senders, and Microsoft had a lot of feedback
concerning it.
