2007 references in 2003

Hi Groupies

I have a laptop and a desktop computer, they both run Vista and they both
have Office 2003 and Office 2007.

When I create a 2003 database on my laptop and then move it to my desktop, I
get reference errors. On the laptop, I have the references for Access 2003
but when I open it in Access 2003 on my tower, the references are for 2007.
Instead of 11.0 Object library, it has 12.0, etc.

I thought I had the same installations and updates, including the SP3
hotfix.

I am by no means a programming guru so when I look at instructions on how to
maintain references when transporting databases my eyes glaze over......my
problem, I know.

However, does anybody have any ideas?

Access will update the References to a later version (but not an earlier
one), depending upon which version is the default.

Hi Arvin

Thanks for the info. So, I guess that 2007 is the default.
How do I make 2003 the default? Do I just change the default via Windows?
On my laptop (the one that works properly) mdb files currently have 2007 as
the default.

You can't. Each time you open it will register that version.

Tony, thank you very much for pointing out these workarounds!

And let us not forget,

Thank you Allen Browne for putting this together and taking care of us all!!
I should have known that something on your site would address this issue.
