2007 - Updates to resource assignments using Build Team not reflec

Project desktop expert, new to Project Server 2007 and working with a sandbox
implementation currently.

When I use the PWA Build Team...Replace to replace a generic resource on a
project with an actual named resource after first publishing a plan, my
updates don't appear to be reflected in Project Server. If I check out and
open the Project Plan in MSP Pro, however, the updates were made, and then if
I publish the schedule, the updates appear in server.

I thought when you made resource updates using PWA that they should be
reflected immediately (or as soon as the request is thru the queue).

Any changes done to the resources via PWA>Build Team will not be reflected
the assignments data in PWA until you re-publish the schedule.

Try this, once you complete the first part whereby you do a replacement of a
generic with a named resource, return to Project Center, highlight the
schedule and click on "Edit Project Properties". You will see in red font
that there is unpublished data that needs to be published. This is in
reference to the resource changes you made via PWA>Build Team. You can Save
and Publish the schedule from there and once that is complete hit "Cancel".

The data will now be updated correctly in PWA.

You need to add the Edit Project Properties>Save and Publish as part of your
process.

Hope this helps,
Jonathan Sofer

Jonathan, you rock! Thanks. I am glad to find that this is my lack of
understanding and not a system bug. I've already encountered two of those
today (need to have some hotfixes applied).

Is there a good resource somewhere that explains what changes necessitate
publishing?
