2010 Status bar disappeared

Hi
The status bar in my 2010 word program, you know the one that gives page count
word, count, etc... has vanished. I have read about right clicking to customiz
and such, but the area where the bar should be is gone
To answer some of the basic questions that I have seen mentioned for some o

older versions of word
Yes, the screen is standard size, and not in any strange view (web, ful
screen
etc...) I have shut it down and restarted, even rebooted the computer, to mak
sure that it wasn't just gone temporarily

I have seen others talk about macros that make the status bar visible, but onl
for Office 07 or older
Could this be what happened to my 2010

I appreciate any help you can offer!

yes, the window is the maximum size or a normal window. After reading a lot o
forum posts that said the view or minimization could make the bar disappear,
made sure that it was at standard or default view.

"The maximum size or a normal window" doesn't mean anything. I asked whether
it was "maximized." That is a term of art in Windows. Right-click on the
Taskbar button. Is Maximize one of your available choices? If so, click it.
Does that solve the problem? If so, then you have your "normal" window sized
too large for the screen. Drag it smaller from the top, and then drag it
upward using the title bar.

Mandie, I had the same problem with Word Starter 2010 in Windows 7. I resolved it by restoring my laptop to its most recent previous state. When the system restore was complete, my status bar in Word had reappeared.

I hope this helps you or somebody else.
