24 hour delay to receive Yahoo forwarded mail w/Entourage;immediately w/OWA?

I have found two instances where email messages appear immediately in
OWA, but take 24 hours to appear in Entourage. The same delay is
experienced when a remote SMTP server sends an error message back to
my Exchange account.

I am using Exchange Server 2007 and Entourage 2004.

How can I eliminate this delay in receiving the messages with
Entourage? In searching the web, I have found that others also
experience the delay, but I have not seen any solutions.

Did you configure your account as an IMAP account or a full Exchange
one??
(I was thinking that if it's IMAP, you are sending e-mails through SMTP
and that could explain the difference with sending through OWA)

Full Exchange. BTW, I checked with colleagues at my office, and they
experience the same behavior. The Yahoo forwarded (Yahoo makes the original
message an attachment), and system messages from SMTP servers show up
immediately in OWA, but 24 hours later with Entourage.

Well it looks like a server issue more than anything else.
Entourage essentially connects to the Exchange server through OWA.

Can you verify whether or not you're connecting to a back-end Exchange
Server or a front-end server? A front-end server address would be the
same address you'd use for Outlook Web Access (OWA).

If you're using a front-end address and your Exchange Servers are on the
same network as your Macs then I strongly suggest using the address of a
back-end (internal) server.

Also, reduce the number of messages and sub-folders in your Inbox. The
Inbox is special and is scanned and synchronized more frequently than
any other folders. Too many items trying to synchronize can delay
messages getting to your Inbox.

Hope this helps!
