255 Character limitation in memo field

Publisher 2007, Excel Data Source Exported out of AuctionPay as a *.csv

According to this, only by splitting the fields.

Merged fields are truncated to 255 characters in a Publisher 2007 or Publisher
2003 publication

Thank Mary,

I know this issue has been raised before, but why on earth would MicroSoft
not fix such an obvious limitation? One would have thought they would have
fixed this in 2007.
