503 valid RCPT command must precede DATA

Has anyone got any ideas why i keep getting this message returned to my
inbox. I have tryied disabling AV protection, but this has no effect. I am
connecting via my mobile phone (GPRS) connection when this message appears. I
have no problems sending emails when i connect either by dial up or my
broadband connection. Is it possibly related to my isp server(Tiscali). This
503 error only happens when sending email and not recieving, via GPRS
connection.

It's a long shot but maybe it's because when you're using the GPRS
connection you're on a different network than Tiscali allows for using their
SMTP server.

Hi Vince
Thanks for your input, i have contacted Tiscali for info on this as well,
waiting for reply from them, as you say this may be the problem but i cannot
understand why i can recieve emails on GPRS. Thanks again.

You can typically receive mail from any network (ISPs don't care where you
get the mail) but typically SMTP access (outgoing mail access) is limited to
the network of the SMTP provider to limit outside access

You are right vince, got reply back from tiscali and they have confirmed that
i need to use their server to send mails: so i just have to change a few
settings and sorted, Thanks again for your help.
