I have not been coming back to this NG because I wasn't able to connect via
Managed Newsgroups for some time. That problem seems to be resolved now.

So, from what you are saying, the 64 bit components do not need to be
installed separately since the installer will be invoked by Setup.exe and
will detect that the OS is 64 bit. I guess that answers my question.

This is the first time that Office has had a 64 bit version, correct?

FWIW, while there are setup.exe invoked components for 64-bit systems, as mentioned, there is not currently a 64-bit client 2007 MS
Office Suite product set.

32-bit Office 2007 version, however it can run on a 64-bit Windows
environment. As I know, other earlier Office versions can also run on
64-bit Windows, such as Office 2003.
