98 to XP graphics problem

I have a house plan drawn with Pub 2002 on win98. My new
3ghz/512mb HP with XP doesn't like my house plan. It
takes minutes to open a page and is inclined to stop
responding. All other folders have transfered to XP
without problem.
The house plan has a lot of thick and thin lines,
rectangles and other shapes and a lot of small text boxes
containing labels. It operated without problem on the old
computer.

You probably have some corruption, usually it will be a graphic.

Try this, open your publication, select all on the first page, copy and paste it to a
new instance of Publisher. Save the new instance, in the original delete the copied
page, continue this until all your pages are in the new publication. Eventually you
will discover what page and what graphic is causing the issue.

Having worked with CAD programs I have to ask why you are using Publisher to
do house plans. Seems like there are much better choices of programs for
that specific application.
