Outlook 2002 (Office XP) Win2K Pro outgoing server
requires SMTP authentication, that's all, DOES NOT req ssl
or sap to connect. I have 10 POP3 and 5 http accounts.
When adding more than 8 POP3 accounts, the subsequent
accounts do not always succesfully Send and Receive (SR).
That is the situation I am experiencing with these extra
(>8) accounts whether through the SR settings of the SR
group or with a manual F9.
I tried a test where I had 10 accounts with the 2 new
additions failing F9. I then deleted 1 older account and
F9 fails for the newest addition only. If I delete the 9th
account the errors goes away (on account that had error,
newest).
Is 8 the limit of POP3 accounts you can have? Is there a
registry setting that can enable more?
I did find an article on the error I get:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;329916
I tried the suggestion and there was no change. Using
Norton Int Security 2003
Thanks
