_vti folder problems

Im having a bit of a problem. I have started up my own search engine, but
when i index the site, it also indexes the _vti folders. Also, when i upload
my site through FTP (Coffeecup FTP), the _vti folders also seem to get
copied. Is there any way to stop them getting copied as they much up my
engine? I currently use the FP2003 and a My Webs folder.

Thank you.

Use FP to publish via FTP to a remote server that doesn't have the FP extensions, then the _vti
folder will not be created on the remote server.

Since you are using a 3rd Party FTP application, it is up to you to not copy content that you don't
want on the live/remote site and this is not an FP issue.
