A DROP DOWN MENU FROM WITHIN A DROP DOWN MENU

can anyone give me the code to have a drop down menu that upon selecting an
item , offers a 2nd lever drop down list ?

example

main list would have

CAPS
PLUGS
CABLE TIES
FINISHING PRODUCTS

when visitor chooses, say CAPS

a secondary drop down list would appear that he would chose the 2nd level ,

example

CAPS-THREADED
CAPS-NON THREADED
CAPS-TAPERED
