A Genealogy site?

I'd like to create a website home page for our family tree where those who
would like to upload pictures and family trees could do so in a password
protected area.

Could someone point me to a faq page or info of the easiest way to do this?
I have fp2003 and my server is a linux.

You will need a server side script supported by your host that will let your users add content to the site
- Since you are on Linux check if they support PHP
If they do take a look at http://contentseed.com/

For the Password protected subweb
See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825451
Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions
