A master that influences all its copies

Is it possible to create a master (masters) that permanently influences its
copies?

For example one creates a master, copies it a few times into different pages
and then one wants to change for example a property that goes for the copies
(and ofcourse the master)

Is that possible? and if so how?

File -> Shapes -> Edit Document Stencil
and edit the appropriate shape there.
