A petty problem?

Hi,

I record macros whilst writing in Word97 from time to time.
The macros are not used in every file so I don't want
to keep them all the time and attach to each file.
When I delete a macro from a certain file it dissapeares
from the list in all files.
If I record a macro whilst writing one file, I have it on the list
in all following files.

Question: How and where to keep macros to be able
to copy (attach) and use them for file when necessary only.
I need something like library of (my) macros but I don'r
really know how to do it.

Regards,
Sofia

I'd like also to ask how it happens that when I am given a Word file
with a macro, the macro is on the list and I can run it.
When I try to use my old macro which was in my old file but it isn't
in the Word now, I don't have it on the list (and I can't run it of course).

It seems that it is somehow connected with Word97 itself and not with
a file but I don't know why.

Could anyone help me?

Hi Sofia,

You may want to use the link below to also post this in one of the Word VBA/Macro discussion groups.
Some versions of Word allow macros to be in either a document or template while others save them only in a template.

Hi Bob,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Unfortunatelly the newsgroups:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.word.vba.beginners
news://msnews.microsoft.com
are not available on the newsgroups server I use.

The following newsgroups concerning vba:
news://microsoft.public.word.vba
news://microsoft.public.word.word97vba
are available on the server but they are visited by a few people only.

I did not know that newsgroups are also available via web browser.
Especially thanks for:

I think that it is what I need.

You can add Microsoft servers and get all the MS newsgroups.

You can add Microsoft servers and get all the MS newsgroups.
Thanks for your advice but how to add the servers?
Please tell me step by step.
