A shortened version of NOT(IsNumber) & NOT(IsBlank)?

It seems like I use the NOT function a lot and it creates
confusion and lengthy formulas because of the extra
parentheses and characters. Is there a better way or a
function not listed like "ISNONTEXT" for these? For
example, it would be great if there were a IsNonNu or
IsNonBl function even though the character savings is not
huge.
